Between today, the 16th of June, 2026 at 7:30a.m and previous days, pump prices in drivers reported was between 775- 820 per liter in Western Nigeria. Nigerian National petroleum Company Limited modified the depots last night. As a result, independent marketers in Osun, Ekiti, and Ondo changed prices before 6 a.m.

Fuel price in Osun Ekiti and Ondo today depends on distance from Lagos depots. Stations in border towns pay more for transport. Meanwhile, NNPC outlets keep prices lower than independents.

According to the table, Ilesa posted the highest fuel price in Osun Ekiti and Ondo today at ₦820. In addition, Ise-Ekiti and Owo also crossed ₦815. NNPC stations stayed under ₦790 in most state capitals.

3 Reasons Fuel Price in Osun Ekiti and Ondo Today Changed Overnight

  1. Depot cost adjustment: NNPC increased ex-depot price by ₦12 late Sunday. Marketers in Western Nigeria added transport and margin.
  2. Tanker delays on Lagos-Ibadan road: A breakdown at Shagamu slowed supply to Osun and Ekiti. As a result, Ikire and Ado-Ekiti stations raised prices.
  3. Weekday demand: Monday mornings see high Okada and POS rider demand in Ondo. Stations in Akure and Ore adjust prices by 6 a.m.

“Supply came at 2 a.m, but it cost us more,” said Mrs. Folake Adebayo, one station manager at Ikere. “We have to add ₦15 to break even.”

What Motorists in Western Nigeria Are Saying This Morning

Drivers across Osun, Ekiti, and Ondo shared mixed views. Many compared today’s rates with last week. Furthermore, commercial drivers said the changes affect daily income.

“I bought at ₦775 at NNPC Oke-Fia, Osogbo,” said Kazeem Lawal, a taxi driver. “But by 8 a.m, Total Ijamo was ₦820. The gap is too wide.”

In Ado-Ekiti, a student, Tosin Adeyemi, said she paid ₦790 at NNPC Fajuyi. However, she queued for 25 minutes. “POS operators here now charge ₦200 to transfer, so cash is better,” she added.

Meanwhile, Okada riders in Owo, Ondo State, said ₦815 per litre cuts profit. “We increased fare from ₦150 to ₦200 this morning,” said one rider at Emure junction.

The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority keep records of averages on a weekly basis. NMDPRA reported last week that South West zone average was 788. Today’s early data from Western Nigeria shows ₦799.

Experts say transport cost from Apapa and Ejigbo depots drives the gap. Towns farther from Lagos, like Ise-Ekiti and Owo, pay more. As a result, fuel price in Osun Ekiti and Ondo today splits by LGA.
